We are told they are the first of their kind in Britain, the amazing zero emission electric buses which are about to transform Harrogate into Britain's first low emission bus town.
Due to be launched during this month (August 2018), the new electric buses are packed with incredible features, including air conditioning, free WiFi, USB power at every seat, wireless charging pads, 'countdown to departure' destination displays and audio-visual next stop announcements.
Harrogate Bus Company have invested £1.7million in eight new high-tech electric single deck buses to town, together with £2.25million of funding granted from the Government's Low Emission Bus Scheme. They have also worked closely with Harrogate Borough and North Yorkshire County Councils and the electricity infrastructure owner Northern Powergrid to install the infrastructure for the new buses.
Ben Mansfield from Transdev who run Harrogate Bus Company said, “We needed an easy to use product to promote Harrogate Electrics at the electric bus launch events. We chose the popout banners from Nuwave Display, primarily because it takes only moments to put them up. We have a series of events planned throughout August, the next one being the 18th, and yes the buses look fantastic but we just needed some eye-catching banners to add to the display – and these certainly do!”
